Perhaps I should say, I NEED to make stuff. This evening we turned off our lights for an hour (and the TV and computers etc. etc.) to take part in the worldwide Earth Hour. It is so hard to make anything by candlelight - I was getting really twitchy by the end of the hour! What I was trying to make was some of these flowers - I think I could have chosen an easier colour to work with in the dark...

Hello
Well, I have finally decided that it's about time I started a blog... So, what shall I say? My name is Helen and I like to make stuff - when I grow up I would like to be a textile artist please. And in the meantime I make all sorts of things and sell some of them in two Etsy shops and one Folksy shop.

Found your site today --Welcome to Blog World.
Your flowers are lovely. I thought Earth Hour was tonight?
Yes, tonight - I am in the UK so we've already had it!
I was confused too, I thought it was supposed to be the same time (actual time, not clock time) worldwide - but of course that would mean some countries turning their lights off in daylight. duh.
Great start helen - now you've got to keep going!
I'm your first follower so I shall be checking!

Hi Helen,
I didn't realise you made these lovely flowers as well as your beautiful sea art. I love this purple one :-)
